At around sixish I got a call from my pal, Marjorie. She said, "I'll be there in 15 minutes." There's nothing like getting a ride from Cole Valley to Potrero Hill when you need to get there, because you can bet your ass, and a cold one at that, that you'll be waiting for quite a while for the 22.

Mayor Jerry Brown's plan to throw in 10,000 new Oakland Residents into the downtown area bears fruit every 1st Friday of the month. That's when art mongers go to various cafes and galleries to see art, and that art is a great way to kick off a new month.

The last Friday was no exception.

I checked out art at Ego Park, the Mama Buzz Cafe, the Esteban Sabar Gallery, and the Front Gallery. There was some art along Broadway, too:
